You know, there isn’t just one way to make art. Clumsy or crude can absolutely be a style choice. The point is to think about what you want to do, decide to do it, and then do it purposefully in all of your work. That will help you create a cohesive portfolio and give people the impression you’ve really got it together. Ultimately, people want to know what they’re getting from you. If they’re confused you’ll lose them.

Just be careful of comparing yourself to others. You’ll never win that game!
